LITERACY FIRST CURRICULUM
At Kids N Us we believe that books are the building blocks of education. Our Literacy First Curriculum has been designed with books and literacy at the forefront of all our teaching plans. Our annual curriculum and program goals developed by our Teaching Staff and Administrators is based upon Developmentally Appropriate Practice for each specific age group.
We believe that children learn through daily experiences. That is why we offer a wide variety of program components; Blocks, Computers, Cooking, Dramatic Play, Creative Art, Library, Manipulatives, Music and Movement, Outdoors, Sensory and Science.
Our program is designed to meet the needs of each child birth to twelve years old. Our program components support each child’s learning through developmentally appropriate practices and hands on activities.
To support our curriculum and goals, we offer additional educational opportunities in Sign Language, Second Step, and Smart Moves.

Why it Works
Children learn to love the sound of language before they even notice the existence of printed words on a page. Reading books aloud to children stimulates their imagination and expands their understanding of the world. It helps them develop language and listening skills and prepares them to understand the written word.
